Office Positions
Project Manager/Estimator

Responsibilities:

  • Managing awarded projects from start to finish.
  • Estimating projects
  • Working with other project managers / estimators with tasks to successfully estimate and/or complete projects
  • Read and interpret architectural and mechanical drawings.
  • Review/monitor/update submittals outlined in the project CSI divisional specification manual.
  • Review/monitor/update project schedule and incorporate project changes and/or delays. Identify schedule slides and correct as necessary.
  • Communicate regularly and professionally with members of the project team including: subcontractors, suppliers and staff team members to ensure they are informed of relevant project information.
  • Schedule and supervise in-house personnel for self-performed work. Assign work, monitor and track productivity, and optimize resources for self-performed work. May involve teaching the assigned tasks to in-house team when necessary.
  • Solicit and select suppliers for required materials, equipment, and project supplies based on supplier capabilities, schedule requirements, and cost. Follow up with suppliers as required to ensure all required materials are available to meet project requirements.
  • Confirm on site schedule and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and other vendors to ensure they are supplying all required materials, and their work product meets project and company requirements.
  • Review the construction budget and effectively manage the project in a manner that completes the project on or under budget.
  • Ensure that all employees and subcontractors on-site perform work in a safe manner, which complies with OSHA guidelines. Prepare a project-specific safety plan, and solicit and review subcontractor safety plans for their own scopes of work.
  • Conduct project related meetings including but not limited to conducting pre-construction conferences with subcontractors and suppliers, conducting subcontractor meetings, and sending various forms of written correspondence.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and orderly field office. Create and/or maintain the following project documentation: daily reports, weekly reports, safety checklists, safety meetings, OSHA postings, time-records of assigned staff, purchase orders, meeting minutes, as-built drawings, requests for information, shop drawings, submittals, test reports, and any other necessary project documentation.
  • Perform regular job site inspections to identify potential issues such as safety issues, poor work quality, material availability etc. Instruct staff and comply with all client requirements for site access, material staging, cleanliness etc. 

Qualifications:

  • Desired 10+ years experience in commercial general contracting
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, self-started capability, and desire to grow.
  • Proficiency in computerized estimated programs, like Bluebeam and Excel.
  • Should have some experience with some public projects.
  • Should have rolodex of subcontractor relationships.
  • Should have greater construction knowledge than people you are directing.

Assistant Project Manager

Responsibilities:

Working Superintendent

Responsibilities:

Carpenter

General Carpenter Responsibilities:

  • Installs foundations, walls, floors, ceilings, and roofs using materials such as: wood, steel, metal, concrete, plastics, and composites of multiple materials
  • Fits and installs window frames, doors, door frames, door hardware, interior and exterior trim using a carpenter’s level, plumb bob, and laser levels
  • Erects scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground levels
  • Shapes or cuts materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws.
  • Follows established safety rules and regulations and maintaining a safe and clean environment
  • Builds or repairs cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, or other wooden fixtures used in buildings, using woodworking machines, hand tools, or power tools
  • Assembles and fastens materials to make frameworks or props, using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue
  • Removes damaged or defective parts or sections of structures and repair or replace, using hand tools
  • Inspects ceiling or floor tile, wall coverings, siding, glass, or woodwork to detect broken or damaged structures
  • Moves necessary materials around jobsite as assigned
  • Cleans up worksite debris
  • Operate construction vehicles
  • Works towards comprehending schematic diagrams, blueprints, sketches, building plans and other specifications
  • Possess / works towards learning another skill: Drywall Finishing, Concrete Finishing, Painting, etc

Advanced Carpenter/Foreman Responsibilities:

  • Posses advanced knowledge of schematic diagrams, blueprints, sketches, building plans and other specifications and being able to coherently address discrepancies when present
  • Posses other skills besides carpentry
  • Being able to recognizes when subcontractors are performing work according to drawings and specs
  • Being able to do material take offs
  • Being able to recognize change orders vs contract work
  • Being able to hit bid job hours and able to answer for project performance
  • Being able to take pictures and report on job progress
